# Cypress > Cypress helps teams ship web applications with confidence. The open-source Cypress app writes and runs end-to-end, component, and API tests in a real browser. Cypress Cloud records those tests from continuous integration (CI) and turns the results into quality signals: why a test failed, which tests are flaky, which parts of the UI are untested or inaccessible, and whether a release is ready to ship. AI features support every stage, from writing tests to diagnosing failures. This index covers [www.cypress.io](https://www.cypress.io): product, pricing, comparison, and company pages. Every [www.cypress.io](https://www.cypress.io) page listed here is also published as Markdown at its URL plus `.md` (for example, `https://www.cypress.io/pricing.md`). Fetch the Markdown rather than the HTML: it's the same content without the navigation and scripts. For how to install, configure, and write tests with Cypress, use the documentation at docs.cypress.io instead of this site. It has its own index at https://docs.cypress.io/llms.txt. Key facts: - "Cypress" usually means the Cypress app, the open-source test runner. The company is sometimes called Cypress.io after its domain. - How the products fit together: teams write and run tests in the Cypress app, record them to Cypress Cloud to debug and analyze them in CI, and add UI Coverage and Cypress Accessibility to measure coverage gaps and accessibility from those same recorded tests, without writing new ones. - The Cypress app is free and open source under the MIT License. There's no restriction on commercial use, team size, or number of test runs. It works on its own; Cypress Cloud is optional. - Cypress Cloud, UI Coverage, and Cypress Accessibility are commercial hosted services. Cypress Cloud has a free Starter plan and paid Team, Business, and Enterprise plans. UI Coverage and Cypress Accessibility are premium solutions for Cypress Cloud. - Cypress AI models are not trained on customer data. Organization admins and owners can turn off AI features in Cypress Cloud for their whole organization. ## Write and run tests - [Cypress app](https://www.cypress.io/app.md): The open-source test runner. Covers browser and component testing, test generation (interactive recording, natural language, and AI suggestions), visual debugging with time travel, and built-in flake resistance such as automatic waiting and test retries. - [How Cypress works](https://www.cypress.io/how-it-works.md): Why Cypress runs in the same browser process as your application, and what that means for setup, test speed, debugging, and framework support. - [Install Cypress](https://www.cypress.io/install.md): How to install the Cypress app with a package manager. ## Understand and improve test quality - [Cypress Cloud](https://www.cypress.io/cloud.md): Turns test runs recorded from CI into the information teams use to debug failures and judge release readiness. Covers Test Replay and Branch Review for debugging, Smart Orchestration (parallelization, load balancing, spec prioritization, and auto cancellation) for faster feedback, test history, flake detection, analytics, and integrations with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Slack, Jira, and single sign-on (SSO) providers. - [UI Coverage](https://www.cypress.io/ui-coverage.md): Shows which parts of your application's UI your recorded tests reach and which they miss, so teams can see where untested UI creates release risk, close the gaps, and monitor coverage over time. - [Cypress Accessibility](https://www.cypress.io/accessibility.md): Runs automated accessibility checks on every page state your recorded tests visit, with no extra test code, and reports results continuously in Cypress Cloud. - [Cypress Accessibility for compliance](https://www.cypress.io/accessibility/compliance.md): Which standards Cypress Accessibility reports against (WCAG 2.1 AA by default, WCAG 2.2 at levels A, AA, and AAA, the ADA, Section 508, and the European Accessibility Act), and how teams use the reports to find, prioritize, and fix compliance risk. ## AI in Cypress - [Cypress AI](https://www.cypress.io/ai.md): AI features across the testing cycle, grouped by product: `cy.prompt()` and Studio AI recommendations in the Cypress app; Cloud MCP, the Cloud CLI, AI summaries, test generation from coverage gaps, and accessibility fix suggestions in Cypress Cloud; and open-source skills that teach AI coding agents Cypress best practices. - [AI features in Cypress](https://docs.cypress.io/cloud/features/cypress-ai-features): Documentation on which AI features are on by default, how organization admins and owners turn them off, and where to find details on how AI features handle data. - [Cypress Cloud MCP](https://docs.cypress.io/cloud/integrations/cloud-mcp): How AI coding assistants such as Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot connect to Cypress Cloud to query run results, analyze failures, and review flaky tests from the editor. - [What's new in Cypress Cloud MCP](https://www.cypress.io/blog/whats-new-in-cypress-cloud-mcp-sept-2026.md): New tools and data available to AI assistants through Cloud MCP as of September 2026. - [Meet cypress tap](https://www.cypress.io/blog/cypress-tap-cli.md): A set of command-line interface (CLI) commands that give AI agents the same context the Cypress app shows, so they can write tests, extend existing ones, and read failures from the terminal. ## Pricing and value - [Cypress Cloud pricing](https://www.cypress.io/pricing.md): Cypress Cloud plans (Starter, Team, Business, and Enterprise), what each plan includes, pricing for UI Coverage and Cypress Accessibility, and billing FAQs. Use this page for any question about cost. - [Savings calculator](https://www.cypress.io/savings-calculator.md): Estimates the annual engineering time and CI cost a team could save with Cypress Cloud, based on team size, weekly test runs, and test suite size. Results are estimates, not measured outcomes. - [Customers](https://www.cypress.io/customers.md): Stories from teams that use Cypress, including the problems they solved and the results they report. ## Comparisons - [Cypress vs. Playwright](https://www.cypress.io/comparison/playwright.md): How Cypress and Playwright compare on test retries and component testing, debugging and flaky test management, CI orchestration and analytics, enterprise controls such as SSO and role-based access, and accessibility and UI coverage, with FAQs. Several of these capabilities come from Cypress Cloud rather than the open-source app. - [Cypress vs. Selenium](https://www.cypress.io/comparison/selenium.md): How Cypress and Selenium compare on setup, architecture, reliability, developer experience, debugging, features, and support options, with FAQs. ## Security and trust - [Security](https://www.cypress.io/security.md): How Cypress protects customer data: SOC 2 Type 2 certification, where data is stored, encryption in transit and at rest, how Cypress AI handles customer data, and the shared responsibility model, including what customers are responsible for, such as keeping sensitive data out of tests. ## Company and updates - [About Cypress](https://www.cypress.io/about-us.md): The company, its history, and its team. - [Roadmap](https://www.cypress.io/roadmap.md): What the Cypress team has recently shipped, is building, plans to build, and is evaluating, organized by product. - [Release notes](https://www.cypress.io/releases.md): Recent product releases across the Cypress app and Cypress Cloud.
